No word on what the actual problem was, but having used the product in the past, I'm not hesistant to stick with them. I'm thinking that my first set was just a lemon because I've never seen that sort of issue happen before.

How easy is it to remove after some time, As when I sell the bike down the road I don't want the paint messed up. Also, I've got the clear film on, was thinking about putting directly on that but not sure if it'd stick Thanks Quote:

^ I can't really comment on removal of the pads after prolonged usage - because I've never done so myself - but they use a "releasable" adhesive, which means that the pads should be able to be removed and reapplied easily. I also considered keeping a clear film on the tank, however, decided against this. I don't know what kind of issues, if any, would arise from this, but I figured that the pads were designed to be applied directly to the tank, so that's the route I took. |

I don't remember what the instructions say exactly, but yes, the tank should be cleaned with a rubbing alcohol solution of sorts.

I looked at the stomp grip, but it seems like they really need to offer additional pads (like tech spec) for the upper fairing as that's where the my legs come into most contact in addition to the lower part of the tank. |

Yeah, saw they're snake skin @ (tech spec) that also has a fairing cover but at 5'11" with a 32" inseam I've never had an issue rubbing on the fairing as much as the need for more grip on the tank when trying to get a knee down.

^ I did buy a center piece, although it's not specific to the 1199. If you go on their website, I ended up buying the tank protector version #2. I can take a pic of it on the bike later today. |
