Full Termi's melting fairing

I just spoke to my dealer and they informed me that they just received a memo regarding customers with Full Termis installed where the lower right fairing is melting. They (the factory) are providing a grommet to correct the problem. My dealer recommended I check the bike and photograph any damage. I couldn't find any but they are putting on the magical grommet anyway. Not sure what a grommet can do to prevent heat damage but I'll send pictures once they do the service. I'm not sure where the grommet goes (never was the dealer) so stay tuned. I'd check with your dealer to see if they've received a similar notice.

I'm guessing the grommet will push the fairing away slightly away from the cans. and will reduce the risk of melting.

how different are the Termis to the stock that they require a different fitting? Thx for the info and if more comes pls let us know.

For those who are wondering. I have the full exhaust, the manifold pipes are 70mm, so they are considerably larger that stock. I noticed when I got home when I was inspecting the bike and cleaning it for the first time from the dealership that the fairing had been in contact with the exhaust manifold and had burned the fairing on the inside and the paint is bubbling.

I took the bike apart to inspect the fitment. the installation for the headers are pretty cut and dry, plus the fact that the silencers are hard mounted in two places(front and mid aft of silencer) limit the amount of play for location and placement of the exhaust manifolds. like I said before pretty cut and dry for installation.
I sent an email that day to the dealership with pictures and info about what had happened, the dealership at that point on Saturday was already closed and didn't open until today. When I called today they had already had things taken for action. The replacement fairing has been ordered and should be coming from Bologna, hopefully if they have it in stock I should have it in five days along with the replacement rubber spacer.
In the mean while, until I receive the replacement parts I have made my own rubber spacer that I glued to the stock spacer it was about 2-3 mm added to prevent further damage.

Hi,

i just wanted to show my heat damage to the fairing.

before having the temis installed i added some alu tape to the back side of the fairing.

this didnt help much, but maybe a little.

I want to sort this out with my dealer.
Maybe we already have the updated grommit delivered with the full system as Termignoni was aware of this problem.
And maybe not......so if anyone knows the height of the new grommit (or the original) please let me know so i'm sure we have the original or the updated grommit.

my dealer just used washers and a longer bolt. Along with some heat tape, it's working like a champ.

Would you be so kind to make a pic of this solution, as my dealer still haven't heard anything about a higher grommit this could be a good temporarily solution.

I received my new grommit from my dealer yesterday. When I mentioned it to him he looked at me blankly but I pushed it and he found it on the system. This is in the UK but it is in on there with a part number.

My dealer installed the bumper today too.

It actually forces the lower fairing into the rear brake leaver and causes it to rub against the fairing when used.

Service manager spoke with DA rep and DA rep said install it because they'd rather replace a scuffed fairing than a bike that has gone up in flames.

Apparently, Ducati is working on a better/more effective fix than just a rubber bumper.

The tech's earlier made their own version of the O'fficial bumper at 9mm - which, as it turns out is just enough to keep the fairing from contacting the brake leaver.

As a matter of interest are any of you guys experiencing these issues with the full system running a high flow/performance filter? What octane fuel are you running it on?
