I tend not to be a fan of bling, but I actually prefer the glossy...don't ask me why.

Comparing the pics Gunny posted, I must say the gloss gets my vote.

Got to go with the Matte Satin, been doing high gloss carbon since 1994 and I really like the change. Now I have gloss carbon on the 1040 and matte on the 1199!

Thumbs up The Numbers so Shall Show That..........

Yes folks I have learned to concede the statistical win over glossy carbon to those of you who like your weave to be matte or satin, or whatever you shall name it. I am a fair loser to my own poll and appreciate everyones input, comments, and fun!

NOW, I MUST admit that this carbon bike does look pretty damn cool dude! Nice Job! Just gotta find a carbon tank and tail to finish it all off eh? Bitchin man, really like that!

Stay safe out there folks, and remember......Spank it like ya paid for it !!!

It's not a carbon wrap these are the first CF panels to be made, They are Austin Racing panels, I was down there last week and Rich asked me as a favour to try to see what the fit was like etc. Obviously i took some pictures of them for him, they look so much better in the flesh, the pics don't do them justice.

Cheers Kingfixer.

As always pictures dont do things justice, bit like when you see the Pani in the flesh after seeing it in pics.

Good job by AR.

carbon or not?

I have to agree with MadeinItaly carbon has been flogged to death and it doesn"t seem to be getting any cheaper in a LCD television kind of way lol. it just hasn"t got the cache it used to have, for me any way. Friend of mine bought RSV4 last year with matte carbon seat unit and it looked fake/tacky. I couldn"t get my head round it. But to answer the question posed.I would have to go with gloss! gloss, gloss, gloss. The pani looks gorgeous in either colourway, why would ya want to change it anyway? Beautiful rich glossy paint wins hands down these days to my tired eyes.

Thanks for your participation and obviously I couldnt agree with you more man!
unfortunately, it does show that the majority liked the matte though, which of course will not change my opinion and choice AT ALL !

bit off topic... but.. has anybody purchased Carbon fairings from Austin Racing for their 1199 yet? Its alot cheaper than carbonvani.. but of course there must be a difference. Any feedback on the Austin CF would be great before I make a decision to buy.

Gloss.

I'm waiting for the 849/899 Panigale to replace my 848 Evo then spend alot of cash on Carbonvani bits and pieces.

What do you think of mixing gloss with matte. For example the lower parts like fenders and chain guard or exhaust guardin matte and key guard and air ducts and fairing pcs in gloss. Just throwing it out, there....
