Does anyone know if the 1199 Termignoni Slip-ons can be Jet Hot coated as well? Would they have to be dismantled? I had all of the pieces of my Twin Can Carbon Fiber Termi's Jet Hot coated on my 2012 Monster 1100 Evo. (except for the carbon fiber of course.)

I believe the slip-ons are also cats? If so I would say no, but that's just a guess.

I don't know either but would also guess they cannot be coated.

I just purchased the 1199 with ABS along with the full Termi system. My dealer will take the slip-ons apart with expectation of sending everything to Jet Hot to be coated black. We discussed the possibility of not being able to coat the very front section of the slip-on, however that part will be covered by the triangular heat shield anyways. I'm leaning towards Jet Hot coating everything flat black. My dealer will rivet the Termi logo back into place afterwards.

Pic of one of the Slip-ons: The U shaped pipe may possibly not get coated however it is covered by a triangular head shield that would be coated. Thoughts? I really want both the headers and slip-ons to be the same color. Either black or polished.

Yeah I think black will look great too. I was tormented between black and polished.

I did not send the cans off for coating but as I think about it, they very well may be able to do the outsides.

One word of advice. Test fit everything after it comes back coated BEFORE attempting to install on the bike. The coating made it very difficult to get all the pieces together for the first time as we installed it.

Fitting it all together OFF the bike will give you the opportunity to make the necessary adjustments and will make the installation process go a lot faster and easier.

We had to grind some of the internal coating away at the joints in order to make them fit together. Granted we didn't have to take much off but it would have been a lot easier to do it on the bench rather than on the bike.

As it was it is a PITA of a job.

Also, make sure you drive the vertical header portion below the loop for the rear cylinder home all the way! If you do not completely seat it, it will totally screw up your mounting position for the can. Again, test fitting will ensure you can do this easily when it comes installation time.

Also, as an aside but related, I purchased the DEI Gold Heat Shield material and applied that to the inside of the lower right fairing. I did it to add an additional layer of protection from the heat. Nice stuff and very easy to work with. Amazon has both the sheets and the tape. I bought a sheet and a 2 X 15 tape roll and it was more than enough to cover the entire inside of that panel with tape leftover.

Hey SuperGmoney:

You can Ceramic Coat pretty much anything you’d like. If you’re looking to get it done in Bright Ceramic that would be a bit more difficult but certainly still doable. The only real problem I see is the bands wrapping the silencer. If those came off that would make things much easier and you could get a better job being able to access both sides of them. Below are a couple similar pipes.

Took deliver of my 1199 base with ABS tonight. Attached is an iPhone pic but will take hi-res pics this weekend after she is cleaned up (smudges, etc.) . I had the Full Termignoni's system installed after a complete Jet-Hot Satin black coating. More pics to come.

For those of you with experience of along apart the can and reassembling after the coating process, would anyone be able to tell me if I could remove the termi logo on the can without having a hole or weld spot on the can?

You remove the Termi'' logo from the can prior to getting it Jet Hot coated and then after you pop rivet the logo back on. I will post pics on the thread I previously started.
