I wore out a front in 1500 miles. Left the rear unchanged as it looked like it would last another 1000 miles or so. With the new front on and the worn rear, the TC light would light up (stock Sport TC setting) in tight low speed turns at decent lean angles. It did not light up in these turns at the same pace when both tires were new.

I'm leaning toward turning the TC off, or just leaving it on level 1, as I find it quite obtrusive at almost any decent pace. Even during break in, when I simply concentrated on carrying corner speed and keeping revs down (I actually adhered to the break-in recommendations during the first 1000 km) the thing would kick in nearly any time the bike was near the edge of the tire. I remember being in a left-hand sweeper at 85 in 5th gear (gotta stay below that 6k rpm, ya know!) and rolling the throttle on only to find the yellow light winking at me.....on virtually new tires. Now that Michelin is making a Power Pure in 200/55-17 that I can lay hands on for less than $200, I think I'll go that route. The OE Pirellis are on track to expire in less than 1500 miles. I've ridden on primarily Michelins for nearly25 years (since radials came out for motorcycles in the late '80s) and haven't had a single problem with them the entire time. I've tried others, but have always gone back to Michelin. Anybody besides TransNone13 tried Power Pure or Power Cup on a Panigale, yet? |

5100 miles on mine and though it's a bit flat in the center to the feel, it's still not that bad. I'm surprised it's lasted so long.

I just replaced the SP with SC1 for a couple track days and then might use the remaining tread on the street until it gets cold. The SC1's are an identical profile with the SP's but are very very sticky on the track. Worked great and since I don't ride in the rain - I can use the SC1' for awhile until I replace on another track day.

1500 mi on the original set and still looking good. Just guessing should be able to get another 1500 if current wear is any indication. Will change to a Dunlop Q2 once it's done. At some point I'll throw on a 190x55 PP3 just out of curiosity (or maybe they'll have a 200x50 by then). If it messes with TC (and I don't really think it will), I'll just turn off TC. |

DTC works well. ABS works well. I think they'll radically outlast the 1400 miles I got out of the OE Pirellis, which is kinda sick for DOT race rubber!
