I'm noticing an impressive result for a stock 1199.The midrange is on par with every other liter bike. With a great spike at 8k that beats EVERY other liter bike until 10.6 k where it tapers off. Imagine a Dyno tune with air filter,PCV and Exhaust to improve the curve even further. It amazes me how the BMW was able to pass U.S restrictions without neutering the bike. All the other manufacturers have a watered down version that takes $$$ to reverse the neutering, i.e.. Reflash,F.C unit etc.

On paper the RC8 looks like it would make a total hooligan of a streetbike.

I am surprised to see that the 1199 has more power than the s1k all the way up to 11k where the bmw just takes off. Even the RC8R makes more power than all of them until its redline. If the panigale wasnt an option I would have gone for the RC8. So freaking sexy and I am sure its loads of fun. Torquey as hell too. Heck I might even choose an RC8R over a Panigale. |

I love my bike, still gives me goosebumps. I no longer bother with these arbitrary shootouts. BMW wins, and it should. On paper just look at that graph! I'd be proud to own a BMW if I duct taped my dyno results on my jacket when i ride with the following disclaimer. "Sure it's not a Ducati and it's as homogeneous as every other liter bike, but when in the hands of the few professionals who can take it to the limit... |

The BMW is just a big 600...seriously, my 2011 was a monster once it got past the 9K rpm point but bellow that not much to write home about, and I even had the Kyle racing full titanium exhaust like Larry pegram's bike and PC5with Kyles racing map. I always get a chuckle when i hear guys complaining about the lack of grunt down low from the Pani. lol I guess the grass is always greener...... |

Funny seeing these dyno results as most mags have said how much you have to rev it out. How does it compare to the old twins?

I can feel that difference in the power band shown for the RC. It annihilates corners. The Pani isn't shabby either, but I didn't feel as comfortable on it. With some more seat time, who knows? But right now I prefer the RC power band at the race track. It's predictable and strong throughout.
