Ducati Austin Redemption! Also check your bikes.

Well, I was coming home today and noticed that my right foot was feeling a bit hot. The bike was popping a lot during decel but seemed to run ok. I leaned the bike over at the intersection and couldn't see anything but definitely felt like there was an exhaust leak.

So I get home at 5:49 and spy the problem, the plug has come out of the exhaust pipe just behind the rear cylinder. I then call Ducati Austin (5 minutes prior to close) and talk to the service manager who listens to my description and quickly finds the part and then tells me that since the shop manager lives close to me, he will bring me the part and install it. FOR FREE!!!!! WOW!!! HOLY CRAP BATMAN!!! I can honestly say that after all of the battles we have had and all the issues, this action shocked the crap out of me and it is extremely rare that my expectations are so profoundly surpassed.

Thanks again Ducati Austin!!!

Never have I been so positively surprised by a shop. This goes a very long way toward redeeming my faith in the shop.

Now go check your bikes and make sure that plug isn't falling out of your exhaust. Symptoms include excessive backfire during low rpm decels.

Yea, I do have much love for those guys.. I popped in there today and Rory dropped everything he was working on and swapped out my left hand turn signal assembly from another bike. It didn't ultimately fix the problem but, I did appreciate their sense of urgency with my problem.

Glad to hear it mavic! I know you've had your share of problems, but they all seem like pretty good guys.
