Cool DP Carbon Fiber Ignition Switch Cover

Now available in the USA I have attached a much better picture than the ones floating around on the net. The Ignition key cover is actually a lot better than I anticipated.

Still waiting over 2+ months for final DP part - the DP Carbon Air Conveyors.

Will post picks after I get back from MotoGP Leguna Seca.

Side Note - Looking forward to catching up with quite a few people at MotoGP Ducati Island

My supplier is praying they are not ;-)

Irronically, once all the DP parts are on it, I will be taking the exhaust off the bike and jet coating it.

Honestly.......You've bought an exotic Italian motorcycle
If we were totally rational about motorcycling we would probably have purchased a jap bike for less money with comparable or equal performance, not that there's anything wrong with that, Ive had many myself... IMO

When will the conveyors be available? I thought they would release at the same time?

That is an excellent question. You may of noticed that a lot of suppliers actually require full upfront payment before they place an order with Ducati. I was also wondering why no suppliers have much in stock and why the long lead times on some Ducati Performance parts. Here is one explanation that I received that may make some sense.

It would appear that Ducati Performance *may* first design parts as prototypes and advertise said parts to dealers to gauge interest. If enough customers place orders (hence the common cash up front policy) on reaching a certain order threshold Ducati actually does a production run. Considering Ducati's "just in time" manufacturing process combined with their inherent desirability this kind of business operation would make a lot of sense .. for Ducati and its dealers. This would also explain why certain parts take a long time to become available. I feel most would say that the DP Air Conveyors at $400+ USD is exotic and pricey and as such why it is last to market.

Either way, I love all the DP parts and I am very happy with the quality, price is what it is, the only exception is the Ducati Tank Pad.

Trust this helps.

I have also got parts from ProItalia. I have found the best way to get some parts is to simply order them, waiting for them to arrive in stock is very hit and miss. I just put the ignition cover on and it does look quite fetching. The generator cover is available I have that on my bike.

My two favorite DP parts are the billet levers and the rear sets. I love them, they are way better than the stock parts.
