I have had some problems on the track yesterday... Suddenly the bolt of the seat was gone. When I checked the bolt of the steering damper it was so loose I could easily remove it with my fingers .I'm gonna retorque all the bolts on the bike just to make sure. I've marked plenty of them because I don't want stuff to go flying |

Sorry to hear about so many issues with bike and service. It seems to be possible that the bikes with issues, do have bad service shops. I haven't had anything wrong with my Panigale. Once I heard about recalls, I called my shop and they pulled my name and history of my bike. They said haven't contacted me because they fixed all recalls/checked all bikes before they sold them. Moto Forza in Escondido, California is outstanding. Friendly, observant, caring and supportive to my needs care and safety. I hope all your issues get resolved and your shops get on top of your issues quickly...

The amount of posts you have on this forum may also be an indicator that you are a new owner. To quote from the recall letter "During the continuous research, development and quality control carried out on our products, we have found that your motorcycle requires the installation of an upgrade kit ".....etc So depending on when your dealer delivered your bike may depend on whether it had any issues. Or when your dealer told you this he was not even aware of the recall. I would suggest it depends on build date. Any 1199 being built today of course is being fixed on the line. This has nothing to do with what dealer you bought the bike from or their perceived level of service. Reality check time. | |

Got the call yesterday. According to the service manager it's consists in a 10 point inspection with the replacement of a few minor parts. I don't consider this a major problem, after all the Pani is a brand new design. Remember the Apes a few years back? Total engine replacement. BMW had major issues with the 12 RR's and this is without mentionning Toyota. |

Will US residents get notified by mail per any standard recall? An official recall in the US requires written notification to the owner, not a phone call from the dealership. Last edited by kensteele; August 12th, 2012 at 09:03 AM. |

When I was at the dealer today I mentioned the recall letter sent to the UK owners and they said they just got notification of the "safety upgrade kit" required to be installed on all 1199's. Same items from the UK list.
