As bad as that looks...what's even worse is that it's my understanding that the Japanese Pani has had its engine neutered. I can't remember the exact figure, but I remember hearing that the hp was only around 100. Does anyone know if this is correct?

Bikes for the Japanese domestic market need to be capped at a max speed of 180km/h. Wonder if the Panigale has been restricted as such.

![]() I go to Japan regularly, and their cops really really cut down on modified vehicles. They take their regulations very seriously. Almost everytime I go, just walking around, I see some car getting pulled over for illegal mods inspection. | |

Japan has very strict emmissions and decibel limit laws. I am not surprised that this is done by Ducati Japan. and it is illegal for manufacturers to sell bikes more than 115 horse power. Yes , so you might ask doesn't kawasaki sell 190+hp zx10r, yamaha sells the 180+hp r1. What they do is that the ecu program of Japan domestic motorcycles is neutered. that is why there are some Japanese who imports japanese bikes from the US / European region so that they can get the bike at full horse power. there are dealers who re-imports japanese bikes which are made in Japan. You should also see the Diavel with its extra long exhaust. it looks so bad and it is also for the Japan Market. the loop hole is that the dealers can sell the full termi kit to release the full horse power as long as the customers will promise that they will only use it for "race use" So if you are in japan, the first hing on your list will be to buy the full exhaust to get ride of that hideous pipe |

Who makes that can? It looks like something I would expect to see on a 6 or 7 year old japanese literbike, cheap looking and not pretty.

I'm sure we will all agree that the pipe looks awful and that the neutering of the HP should be a crime...but looking for something positive to say...at least our Japanese friends get to keep their led rear turn signals (unlike those of us in North America) |

Hideous, I honestly thought this was photoshop and a pi$$take to begin with. In fact it looks so bad you have to wonder if it's a two fingered salute to the Japanese. |
