Amazing, how a 400lb motorcycle uses more gas than a 2200lb Civic. But then again, who's counting.

Yup, they arrived about a week or so ago. They fit easily and yes I am pleased with them. My only minor moan is that they do not have adjustable pivot points. You can adjust the span but not the "speed" with which the brakes come on.

Excellent thanks for the reply, I was thinking of getting their fuel filler too I don't like the standard silver one, and I don't park it unattended, I'm a little confused how it fits as the standard one doesn't have all the screws around the diameter but I guess it will become apparent.

I picked up my S yesterday and I've got the oil sighting window, but mines definitely a MY12

Freakin' awesome by the way and given the first impressions here, I don't need to add anything more, but am loving it. 250kms so far only, and I can't wait to get the full rpm range.

I can't believe how loud it is with the stock pipe. I've got the termi slip on waiting in the living room for the first service and I can't wait to hear that!!

I'll load a couple of photos in the photo thread. You can see oil window in one of them.

Sweet Jesus indeed. Hit 6,000km today. Hardcore bike. Funny today was out riding with a group and a i came up alongside mate with a Honda ST thing on a country road, I thought lets drag, so I downshifted into 4th and just rolled up alongside, wasn't going that fast I thought but then I figured he wasn'tup for it so I nailed it. He told me after that he was pretty much at top speed when I rolled alongside (~180kmh), he thought he was already dragging and couldn't believe how quickly I disappeared.

I asked the dealers about that fairing, they are clueless. SO far I've only seen it on that side of the Atlantic.

I just had to refresh this thread.

I got out on the bike today for the first time in almost 7 months. Only 95 miles but: Feck me! I had forgotten just how much fun this bike can be. Sweet Jesus indeed!

The suspension job by Ducati Coventry and the last upmap has transformed the way I ride this bike. This is possibly bad news for my license (note to self " it is not a race, it is not a , it is not, it is.....") but boy am I having fun meanwhile.

Going to book in for the 41 rear sprocket and upmap next.

The weather is finally getting better!

Speaking of your suspension setup, I need to work on mine properly. The bike does not like taking corners fast enough, it was running wide all day today and I had to take it easy - dont know what is wrong!

I am sorry you are still having this problem. There are, however, too many things that can cause this to answer here (both front and/or rear suspension can cause this). Take it back to Coventry and explain what is happening and let them fix it. If I am not mistaken this problem is after they set the bike up for you? Accordingly they should have no problem correcting it.

Thanks for the note Marc.

Well, when I got the bike, it had the stock settings, the rear was really really stiff so I changed it to P which made it a lot better. I did not change the front at all. As that, the bike was pretty agile, did some nice zig zags if you wanted to at high speeds..

The stock front settings were a bit stiff so I thought I will take it to the Coventry guys and get the whole thing setup for me. They looked at it and said the rear is fine, they softened the front a bit and thats it, the idea was to give me more feedback. Ever since, its not that agile anymore..

If you could give me your side of the story and what changed for you after setting up your suspension, I can go back to them and explain what I was after, could be I am not telling them the whole story and missing some important bits.

Cheers

Mali, take the bike back to Coventry and describe to them what is happening e.g. running wide, not turning quickly enough; that sort of thing. Asides to other issues, my bike ran wide too when I got it, but then the OEM suspension was set up all over the place. Whilst they did not need to change the springs for me, they had to play with the ride height; the rebound and compression, they dropped the yoke down the forks. They did all this because I explained to them what was happening when I rode the bike. BTW my shock is set to F at my request.

Alternatively there are many web links to suspension set up, perhaps try those. I believe there is a thread with links within this forum.

I am not meaning to sound short, but I do not believe there is a black and white answer to this and a suspension expert I am not.
