Thought I'd post up some pics.. The dealer delivered my 1199 yesterday morning, first thing I did was wax the hell out of it. Only put about 50 break in miles on it so far, did not stick to the 6K rpm limit (was constantly varying RPM and chopping throttle, saw 8 and 9K numerous times on the ride) and had zero issues. No loose bolts, no oil leaks, nothing. Love the way this bike handles, it's so confidence inspiring. Already on that first ride I was going faster than I did on the 1198. It does put out a lot of heat, but less than my 1198 did so for me its not an issue. I even find the stock seat to be comfortable for a sportbike. This bike is loud as hell, I will not be endearing myself to the neighbors anytime soon. I like sport mode but I love race mode with it's better throttle response, will probably be riding around in that most of the time. As far as upgrades go I will get a fender eliminator and probably a tinted double bubble screen, but will wait a while for an exhaust until the aftermarket sorts itself out. So far I am pretty happy..

Not sure if your aware but you can be in sport mode and have the throttle settings of race mode. While in sport mode bring up the dash menu and select engine and "195 High" and save it.

Congrats . This bike has a tremendous amount of elektronic variety settingswise which you can tinker with for hours. I usually ride in 195hi Sport on track with adjusted traction control. I wish you a million safe miles and lots of fun riding it |

Nice pics ! As said above, put it to 195 hi in sportmode or keep it in track mode, throttle is much more responsive and riding waaaaaay smoother ! Have fun !! |

Put another 150 miles on the bike today and loved it.. even in 92 degree weather with some added heat from the bike.. One small bolt that holds the rearview mirrors on vibrated out during the ride, not a problem and an easy fix. It was my fault really as I hadn't checked them for tightness. I need to get some stompgrip or techspec pads for the tank to lock my knees in for braking and cornering. But the amazing thing is how easy this bike is to ride, I still havent even set sag yet, the linkage is still in F position, once I change to P and set sag it should be even better feeling. Love this bike..
