My bike has 917 miles on it is well on its way through its front brake pads, the rears are knackered as I moved the brake lever one evening and they were binding on a got really hot. My bike has seen no track use.

Is the best choice the standard pads or is there an upgrade?

I believe you can go both Carbone and Performance Frictions on them. I'd call my friends at Bellissimoto to confirm though.

Man you gotta be kidding,front pads wasted after less than 1K miles? Brembo pads are excellent quality and I would stick with the standard material for road use,if your racing then thats another matter,each to his own. But honestly if what you say is true then I think you"ve a big problem with your brake system and it needs looking at. Brakes must be binding badly to wear out the pads in such a short distance. My original 1098 pads were at 6K miles and were"nt even half worn and bike was ridden in all weathers.

yeah, i gotta admit... I thought there was a zero missing from that mileage. what do your rotors look like?

somethings wrong, I don't see how you could possibly wear out front pads at 1k miles.

Mmm done over 3k on mine and track use... Pads are fine!

This is what I thought, they are not shot on the front but well worn, I'm taking it in to be checked over as the brakes feel much less sharp than I think they should. They are definitely not binding though..,

"Well worn" is very subjective... how many mm do you have left ??

I had this, in fact before I use to go out on it and start it for the first time, the lever use to go all way back to the bar... Not good when I have it set very sensitive.

Took it to dealer and they replaced the brake servo, not had a problem since, not sure if this is similar, but justa thought, the dealer also said there was some air in the system, which would have caused the problem, but they just replaced the whole servo anyway. Which was good.

So the rear pads were totally shot from where they had dragged once after I moved the pedal position, now the new ones are in the brake lever feels great again. The front ones are fine too, I was just looking at them compared to car brakes and the pistons on the Duke are much further out and the pad material so skinny from new!

So all good again
