Valentino signed my Pani cowl cover

At least his autograph is worth something lol j/k...Ducati and Rossi will be an unfortunate devoirce and Im glad I finally met him before he daparts.

Right after his warm up laps at Indy he changed out of his leathers in his rv, walked by all the VIP guests and came over and signed a few things.

He signed my Indy Program and with a chuckle signed my cowl cover for my Pani...as I yelled "Panigale" with an Italian accent haha

Also got Crutchlow who was pretty funny, asking "why's everybody wearing red?" as he walked over lol

Also Dovi, who replied with a smile "Maybe"...as I suggested he comes to the "RED"

That is very cool. You may want to clear coat that cowl as it is a fantastic momento.

I have the factory shirt he is wearing.

Indy 2012

Rode 500 miles, 7 1/2 to Indy on my Pani... with just a few creature comforsts. power outlet installed, cell/ nav/ internet radio....even home made comfort seat lol (due to last minute decision to even attend).

Even put a Pilot Power on the rear just for the trip so I wouldnt get a flat spot on my brand new SPs installed 2 weeks prior.

1187 total trip miles, no tickets = success !!!

Rode in the police escorted "Red Tail" from Indy Ducati to the speedway, a half mile stretch of Ducs...it's a must do as a Ducatista

I've thought about how i'll preserve is...gotta be careful with clear coat since it turns yellow sometimes. Also, if you dont rough the surface before then it eventually flake.

Seen a TB 999s there with a real autograph on the tank and the guy just covered it with a clear decal....I'm sure that's not his daily rider where as I ride my duc often...thinking a new cowl cover definately, tho I'd still have to protect this one

That's awesome! Looks like you had a great time. Wish I could have made it there.

If it was my cowl, I'd buy new one for daily use and not use the signed cowl.

Thanks for sharing all the cool pics!

I thought about those Shields, the problem is that you have to initiatially apply soapy water..not a chance in hell lol.

Right now leaving it as is sounds best...?

Oh man, I know the feeling...I would have given a lung to have Nicky sign the opposite side of my cowl...next time I'm walking around with my gas tank lol.. His RV was parked down from Rossi and I waited for him...even spotted his Mercedes. Freakin missed him when he finally came to the island :-/. it's unfortunate what happen to him tho...plus he's missing next race

If you apply the venture shield the normal way yes, however I was not thinking about applying soap and water, more so a temp shield. Either way, at this point I agree, leave it as is and have a professional look at it re: sealing options. Good excuse to get a passenger comfort seat (if you have a passenger).

Good luck.

there he was, hanging around with his family:

i feel really sorry for him, considering the motivation at a home grand prix.
on the way home, I was thinking "kentucky kid couldnt sign my bike" all the ride through kentucky
