This recall on the list appears to be a new one I haven't seen mentioned, the swingarm pivot shaft:

>>>>>>>>Vehicle Make / Model: Model Year(s):
DUCATI / 1199 PANIGALE 2012-2013

Manufacturer: DUCATI NORTH AMERICA Mfr's Report Date: AUG 02, 2012

NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID Number: 12V401000 NHTSA Action Number: N/A

Component: SUSPENSION:REAR

Potential Number of Units Affected: 2,411

Summary:
Ducati is recalling certain model year 2012-2013 1199 Panigale motorcycles manufactured from March 16, 2012, through July 12, 2012. The right and left swingarm shaft pivots can loosen.

Consequence:
The swingarm shaft pivots can loosen from the swingarm which can lead to loss of control of the motorcycle, increasing the risk of personal injury.

Remedy:
Ducati will notify owners, and authorized dealers will tighten the right and left swingarm shaft pivots to the proper torque settings, free of charge. Ducati has not provided a notification schedule. Owners may contact Ducati at 1-800-231-6696 or through their website at Ducati - Bikes, Equipment, Accessories, Racing, Company, Dealer - Official Site Ducati.

Notes:
Ducati's recall number is RCL-12-006. Customers may contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's vehicle safety hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY: 1-800-424-9153); or go to Home | Safercar -- National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). <<<<<<<<<<<<<

I did not get a letter. I took my bike in for its first 600 mile service and they told me I had recalls on my bike.

My recall work and first service is scheduled for this coming Thursday. First service fee came in at $237.xx + 7% NC state sales tax. I thought that was somewhat reasonable.

Mine would have been 246$ but it was included in the sale terms.

I have just had a little chuckle on a cool cloudy Sunday morning reading the link above and some of the comments from life's flappers and worriers!
I have to admit that I don't call any of the recalls so far to date worrying or important in terms of danger. They have all been addressed and fixed. Reading some of the waffle on the other forum and the hate towards Ducati just makes me chuckle even more!

I love my Tric nearly as much as my 1 week old daughter but I can't get excited over these minor issue recalls.

I had a first release Honda CBR 600 in 1987. That has some major issues the first being weak welds on the side stand causing the bike to fall over and bust the left hand side fairing and the other major major issue for me was when my girlfriend at the time handed me the rear grab rail as we were heading down the M5 towards Devon!!!

Happy riding brothers and sisters
