Panigale has wheel speed sensor, so gearing changes don't affect the speedo.

How do you like the feel with going 2 up in the rear? Is the low end more noticeable?

I just put it on and haven't ridden it yet, I'll let you know after Monday, doing a track day at High Plains Raceway in Denver on Labor Day.

Hey Jarel, any updates on the sprocket change for the track? I'm trying to decide how many teeth to go up....
Cheers and, as always, thanks for the helpful info.

Oh yeah, sorry, forgot to post back after the track day! I did High Plains as well as Mid-America Motorplex on the new gearing now, and I definitely like it better. More into the torque range on 3rd gear corner exits, I really think I could go even shorter on the gearing and it would be OK. Don't really want to go taller on the rear sprocket though, probably get too steep for the chain angle, so maybe a 14t front would be worth a try.

thanks! that's very helpful. I was thinking of going up at least 3-4 teeth in the rear. Don't know the exact ratios but isn't one tooth on the front equivalent of about 3 in the rear?

Yes, 1 front ~ 3 Rear. I'd be a little worried about chain pull angle being too high going too much larger on the rear sprocket, but somebody's got to be the guinea pig on that, so go for it!

Hi guys,

I was booked in to gets the Ducati 41 tooth sprocket (which they say requires a new chain) as part of the warranty / recall. (Got the new heat shield fitted which makes a world of difference & actually looks pretty good in carbon for the full termi system). Ducati are subsidising the parts so cost of the 41 tooth sprocket & eom chain is around $400 inc labor.

Anyway, I'm booked in for the 28th of May and have a track day before then so looked to see what AM options there are and saw the 520 option for around the same price. Surely this is a better option? Or am I missing something?

Also, not trying to be a dick, but the place I found has it for $399:
AFAM Quick Change Lightweight Kit - 1199 Panigale

Finally, I get up to 273kph on my track & I'm still a novice - would going to a 14/41 setup mean I tap out before this? What would the est top speed be compared to 15/41?

Thanks in advance
PS: I'm in Sydney AU
