Was the pipe purely because the underslung pipes "wouldn't sell well" in the Japanese market or was it a sound emission thing?

Defeats the how purpose of owning a Ducati. Funny thing is I was stopped by Spanish coppers just yesterday. Thought I might have been pulled because of the pipes. So ask the coppers was it the noise & he goes "no senor I just wanna look at your Ducati". |

It funny how Ducati wishes their GP bike can performed like a Yamaha. Well, the Japs insisted that at least the Panigale in Japan first look like a Yamaha.

IMHO They should have copied the cone exhaust from the S1000RR, not perfect but better than that monstrosity!

that exhaust is an absolute disgrace to the bike! it ruins the aesthetics not to mention the sound.. poor japs indeed..
