I'm still waitting for my bike, but I did ordered a set of Termi slip on from the dealer to be fitted when the bike gets here. I questioned the dealer's price (3k aud)as its clear ebay has better deals, and he goes it will void warranty on the bike. even tho its the same part number? Is he full of %$@#^??? |

Yip pretty much! I challenged my dealer regarding eBay pricing and he eventually matched it, however he gave me the same excuse yours did re: voiding the warranty. It's bullshit... Very pleased I had them fitted, look great, sound great and give me 186hp at the rear wheel!

Termi's do NOT void the warranty! They are the one of the only systems that won't void it. Sounds like your dealer is full of shit.

just so you know you can add any slip on exhaust and it WILL NOT void any warranty . You may have to argue with the dealer but it is simply not the case and they know it.

There are specific laws in place designed to protect the customer from unlawful denial of warranty service. An organization called SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) exists to help protect your rights in cases of denial of warranty and their web site contains more detailed information "In most cases, in order for the manufacturer to deny warranty for a failed component, they must prove that the aftermarket part caused the component to fail. Hope this helps a little |

Would an engine failure resulting from a lean condition cause the warranty to be voided If the slip on is used without an approved fuel mapping change. I would guess this could easily be proved if the dealer wanted .

think about it if just adding slip ons of any brand would be hazardous to your engine these companies would be out of business. I had the same question with my ninja. I got two brothers slip ons and the dealer tried to claim you need a full system because of the fuel injectors. I called two brothers and they said just slips wouldnt do anything to your engine or fuel injectors. they said if their products were ruining engines they would be out of business and that made sense to me. Its basically a scare tactic to use certain products that they sell. disclaimer i am not a lawyer nor a mechanic so im just telling you about my experiences and i am not telling you what to do. thats for all you slip and fall lawyers out there

Had a member off this thread reach out to me about obtaining these parts from a US dealer, specifically Termi systems. For those of you OCONUS I may have a super sweet deal for ya. PM me if you are looking for Termi's right now, not thinking about it or maybe in 6 months please. No tricks or stupid ass warranty BS to worry about. That story still pisses me off! |

Basically, the cost will remain retail but all shipping costs will be picked up by seller. Depending on where you live overseas that could amount to alot. Also, since you guys pay taxes on items from US perhaps a very low invoice price could be provided too to save money for you all. You will figure out how to use PM soon, its a must! |

Here in OZ the cost of the 70mm pipes is probably in the mid $2,000, which is ridiculous...any hints on where to buy original parts overseas? I tried ebay, but I found only the full system ie pipes + slip-ons | |

I got my Termi slip ons for $1668 US delivered off of Ebay. They were on there for $1999 or best offer, so I offered $1500. They came back with a counter offer of $1700 so I counter offered again for $1600 and they accepted. Just make sure that they put the price as well under $1000 otherwise you will have to pay customs fees (GST etc). I got them from Jack Trebour Motorcycles, but they don't appear to be on there at the moment.
