Putting the touches on a deal to grab a Bayliss LE 1098. Never tracked and never had the race ECU or race Termi's installed. One owner. Dang tires have barely a scuff on them. Absolute showroom condition. Stoked!!

Have you ridden one ? I've not ridden the 1098R TB, but its the same outside of the TB skin. The bike just wants to buck you off - its constantly trying to wheelie :-). It's like a wild mustang. . . I almost picked one up about 6 months ago when I thought it was a good deal (good thing I didnt). Market hopefully has bottomed/stabilized on these. The regular 1098R is now below 20K.

[ . The regular 1098R is now below 20K.
That is sad, thats why I will never buy an R new again. $40k new 4-5 years later under 20K. |

If I was into collecting bikes, I'd be all over something like this. Too bad I like to ride my bikes hard and don't collect them. . . |

Getting a great deal on the complete package with all original docs, plaques, cover, parts, etc. Finally, someone else is taking the depreciation hit rather than me!! Bike was only registered once and then it expired. It will have all the goodies installed and belts checked / changed. Trust me...this bike will not languish as a garage queen. Gonna ride the snot out of it and....looking forward to controlling the SOB!! I'll keep you posted...and yes...it will see the track next spring most likely. Next up: a Desmo !! . On the hunt

Good score RSR Racer......Nice bike to have in the stable. Troy Bayliss just dropped his 998R at the shop, it was the 21st bike made and of course has all his racing livery over it and signed by him......never even been started...lol. What do you think that would be worth ![]() My 996R is worth more than I paid for it, guess it just depends which model you get or how long you want to hang on to them Last edited by Wallaroo; September 21st, 2012 at 11:40 AM. |

Desmosedici RR! My dealer has two of them for sale around $50k. That would finish off your collection.

Lots of Ducati bikes have desmo engines.
I should have been more specific: by Desmo, I meant: The Desomsedici RR, which has an "L-4 cylinder" DOHC Desmodromic engine with base output of 200 hp with gear driven cams. This is what I'll be searching for when I get out of the dog house! Was turned onto one near by with only 33 miles on it...hopefully it will hang around for a while till I can "justify" it to the CFO (chief female officer)
