When in doubt email the GM?

I had recall work done and they jacked up the lower left a little. I wasn't too mad about it, but I wanted it replaced. It was just careless... Anyway, I emailed their GM:

Quote:
I wanted to check in on this, I have attached the service receipt with Daniel's signature taking responsibility for the damage to the lower right fairing during the service work. I have also attached an image taken of the damage. I haven't heard anything back and was wondering where this was at. I'm not trying to make a big deal out of it, but it seemed pretty careless to me to wrench on a bike with the fairings on if they are in the way.
I got a call from the Service rep in 5 minutes and MAN he was mad, but he said he was directed to replace it today off another bike. I wasn't in that much of a hurry, but wow I wasn't trying to get in a spat. I just wanted an update...

Yeah, it's getting replaced. I just try not to make any bad blood, but I feel the same way in the end. I gave him a chance to keep it low key.

Replacing it now, two hours after the email. I know they're mad but already I'm not getting any attitude now. They are also not tracking any software updates fyi.

It's a shame you had to move it up the ladder, but if you gave them a fair shot to make it right, then what did they expect? Problem is that the guy probably didn't think it's a big deal, but should have known better. Some people just don't give attention to the details. I mean, honestly, how did he even ding that up so badly where it is?!?

I agree with everyone here. It's cool that they took care of it quickly after your contact with the GM, but it's a shame it had to go that far. I had a similar problem with a body shop that was doing work on my car. They just kept Fking things up. Had to bring it back a few times. It wasn't until I contacted the owner that I got anything done. After that I had the three stooges falling all over themselves to make sure the car was right and I was happy.

Not for nothing I agree about with everyone too, IF you take your bike or any vehicle to a dealer and there is evident damage from lack of care, THEY SHOULD REPLACE it without any comment or emotion whatsoever. They have no problem charging, what is current ducati shop time, $100/hr. i would have called corporate then gone to next dealership
