Oh...?,,, egg crate side to helmet or skull? Seems better for ventilation flow towards the helmet.

Don't cut the existing C3 up at all. Don't touch the existing foam. Just add the foam between the two layers of existing foam. There is a flap in there that holds the existing cheek pads in I think, so just stick your new foam between that layer and the helmet layer to add in additional offset/space. You want the foam in /addition/ to what is in there now.

And wait until you see the price of the SR1. It makes the price of the C3 like a Bell. . . (not knocking bell, but just using it as a price reference).

Thanks for hooking him up anthem, I was about to ask the same question and give the same answer. If you've ever met him you'd know he looks like the Hulk and bending his neck is tuff because it's huge! Come back and see me and I'll give you a few baby steps to getting your BP better so that it's not so hard to look uptrack.I know the info was overwhelming, I couldnt talk to you until the afternoon, and I gave the lesson to a group, and the others were more advanced riders. I will give you single items to work on each session. If you don't have it, get stompgrip for the tank. I promise you, it will absolutely make it easier to get good body position. My only real disappointment changing from the 1198 to the 1199 was the seating and tank shape. on the 98 I could lock in solid.I literally fell almost off the inside of the 99 on a sharp left going slow teaching body position.

Thanks...all done...tucked under as instructed...upper portal margin in a great position now and no rolling forward when I try to move it. Cut openings for the vents and Velcro'ed it all in nicely. Going for a ride now to see how it all works out.

I have the C3 for daily commute and the SR1 for track days/spirited ride days. You need to get both, I have gone through many many helmets and there is no better combo!

May have to take you and Anthem up on that advise...have you guys seen their new "SR1-technology" helmet??

Click here --> Schuberth SR-1 Technology Helmet - RevZilla

Will have to compare that with the portal for the NEXX XR1R, but the rear cutout aspect the SR1-Technology my be just what my neck needs

That SR1 is what we're talking about. Essentially they have three - the solid, the stripe and the design with small dragons through it. I got mine in Europe with the dragons all over it -

Here is a link of all of them Schuberth SR1 helmets

The 'Technology' lable is for their striped helmets I believe.

But yes, the SR1 is what I was talking about - killer helmet. Nothing bad to say at all. ..

And after using the SR1 and Corsair V, I've actually gotten used to the full face non-flip helmet and use that much more often than my C3. The C3 is just about retired now.

I'm in the market for a new helmet and was considering the SR1. I was curious if you got one and your thoughts on it. Any comparison to the fit compared to the Corsair V? Thanks

It didnt fit my head too well shape wise, so I went with an Arai Vector2
I have one of these, probably the lightest helmet I have ever had and huge amount of peripheral vision. I would highly recommend it.

I have a Corsair V which has great lateral vision but we have a local track with a number of up-hill corners and I find myself running out of vertical vision i.e looking up the hill I find myself struggling to see under the top of the helmet. I've been eyeing the AGV Pista GP but still no release date for Australia.

+1 I have the NEXX XR1R carbon great peripheral vision left to right and top to botton. Its very light good ventilation but I use it only for the roads. For track days I only use the corsair V.

I would like to know which helmets you feel have the largest vertical and widest dimension field of vision from a sport bike tuck position perspective.

I use a Schuberth and it's prob really good for touring, but really crappy on the track.

Also; I now know why so many have said the stock rear sets on the Pani are for sh*t...they have zero traction.

On the lookout for the "grippiest" set out there, (or at least pegs to start with)
Perhaps, just perhaps, those of us who are 6'9", weigh 299 ripped, and have a 30 inch neck would have this a bit easier RSR! I think the helmet(s) you have now are superb and will give you the best field one can have brother!

I used to wear a Large Arai. Had to push up chin bar all the time. Then switched to a Large AGV GP Tech. Which I prefer. Improved track vision through the corners when hanging off. Then Switched to a medium AGV GP tech. Really tight but perfect vision and the helmet maintains perfect position. Charts say I should use a large. I believe the Medium is the right size for me on the track but slightly tight. So now I use the Large for street riding and Medium for track use. Perfect. Works for me.

Will be getting me a new helmet this spring and the Nexx carbon is high on the list, have tried one on and they are very light comfortable and have great vision as has been said.

Just a quick update on this. I solved the vision issue. The problem was that my Arai Corsair V had bedded in, and it was sitting too low on my head, not that there was any issue with the lid itself.

I bought a set of Arai thicker cheek pads and a thicker helmet liner and the helmet fits perfectly now and was at the track yesterday, no problem at all with vertical field of vision.

A very cost efficient solution. (i.e. no need for a new helmet)
