Just fitted the ASV C5 shorty.. no clearance issues here. I can see how the brake lever might hit the rbw assembly, but my front wheel would've well and truely locked up an inch before that happened, unless i had air in my lines or no fluid. In which case, my braking is going to be compromised anyways. Last edited by littlejohn; October 11th, 2012 at 08:57 PM. | |

I think Miguel's problem wasn't the levers so much as the RCS master cylinder he installed. Both master cylinders on the Panigale are angled towards the outside end of the bar, whereas the RCS cylinder is perpendicular to the bar. It appears the ones on the Pani are made that way to make room for all the gear on the right handlebar, which takes up a lot more real estate than before. Ducati have used angled masters before to clear the switchgear, but the Pani appears to take it further than ever. This creates a problem for me as I'd like to be able to get the bars set about an inch narrower per side as I really don't like the wide, flat bar setup at all. Even if I put a narrower starter/kill switch on to make room on the right side (left has plenty of empty bar space to snug things up), the angled masters would still have the levers positioned too wide even with the clamps up against the fork legs. |

I spend alot of time teaching body position while coaching at the track and shorty levers are not good for those who really get BP right. To get "off the bike" properly in a right turn you must be able to use your fore finger and thumb around the throttle and 2 or 3 of you other fingers for braking. On shorties, the braking needs your fore finger to apply heavy brakes.

I love the stock levers. I hate short levers. Personal preference, ya know. |
