Sorry for the rant, you would think paying over 20k it would come with decent levers. Just ordered some asv c5 shortys today. Btw they are made to order fellas so expect 1-2 weeks for delivery. Will post pics of the levers when they arrive.

They are jus really huge to me. Maybe since all my current bikes I own have aftermarket short levers is why 😜

Levers are preference. I don't think the stock levers are something that anyone can have a real complaint about. I fail to see how they aren't "decent", functional or some would even say good.

I /can/ however agree if someone complained about the foot pegs - as those are pretty pathetic. . .

You are definitely correct as they are preference. I just expected more since this is my 1st Ducati. The pegs are indeed need some more work. I was sitting @ my local Starbucks this morning and was look @ the front of the bike and noticed that the levers were a lil long for my taste. Good thing the local cycle gear was just next door so asv s here we go.

stepping up from a Honda, the lever are quite nice IMO, of course not as nice as a pair of ASV after market levers, but definitely not bad

They certainly beat the heck out of the pieces of junk that they stick on the jap bikes. My GSXR's stock levers looked like they were made in Japan (back in the 1940's)

The stock levers are not too bad, until you upgrade them ;-) The design of the standard riding grips leaves a lot to be desired.

I am quite happy with the level set-up I now have (attached).

The lever protectors are almost as expensive as the levers, now you need a lever protector, protector. Nice, but aren't these used for on trck for brake in case of rider comming to close. Trick..

Saw those duc but I wanted non folding. In certain emergency sutuations u can accidentally hit the lever and will bend up. Then no brake / clutch. Just a personal preference though

Hi Sleekstyle- just a warning with aftermarket levers specifically installed on the Panigale.
Reason why they are long...is for it to clear the plastic starter housing and throttle plastic casing on the right side.

WARNING!!!! INSTALLING AFTER MARKET LEVERS on the right hand side of the bike WILL NOT CLEAR THE PLASTIC HOUSING OF THE STARTER AND THROTTLE CASING when pressed hard towards the grip. THE ANGLED PART OF THE AFTERMARKET LEVER WILL HIT THE HOUSING WHEN YOU APPLY THE BRAKES hard. That is the reason why Ducati made the Brake levers on the Panigale so long....actually the lever is not really long but its the angled portion of the Panigale lever that is long. The angle of the bend of your aftermarket lever may not clear the plastic housing.

What you can do is look at the aftermarket lever angle and compare it with the stock one on your bike... pressing the aftyermarket brake lever hard enough...and you will see that the angled portion of the aftermarket lever will hit the housing...

The Left hand side has no issues. Its just the right hand side...I know...cos I had a brembo RCS brake master installed and it would hit the plastic housing...I immediately removed it and sold it to a friend.

Check it out first before purchasing...

Thanks for the info but don't u think asv a big aftermarket company would do the correct RnD on their products. We even have members that bought eBay levers that work perfect. I'll post my results of fitment when they arrive.

You make a good point that you have to be careful. I recently spoke to a very knowledgable person in the accessories industry and one point he made regarding the short levers was that with some you cannot get full braking leverage before they reach the bar and therefore you may with some after market products compromise your braking performance in an emergency.

A point he made which I personally never noticed is that you never see short levers on MotoGP bikes. I am sure there is a reason for that.

I like those DP ones you have there Caliduc. Must save up some pennies.

Stock levers can never be accused of being things of beauty and for sure are not "designed"...... but thats what we have DP for

ahh yes - the angle of the 1199 levers /are/ slightly different than previous ducati levers which were kind of universal (well most of them). So one does have to be careful as I remember the Rizoma levers were a different shape/angle because of what sleekstyle just mentioned above. That doesn't mean every after market lever will have an issue - but that you do have to take that into consideration when fitting aftermarket levers.
