A Question!

I have just had my first service carried out and they have re-set the Service Light Indicator.

When I start the bike I get a Green Square Icon flash up on the screen saying -6600miles (or something similar) Does everyone else get the same?

Thanks for that, I understood that's what it was, just wondered if that it was normal. Many thanks for clarifying that...cheers

Yup.

Its only like for a second, so nowhere near as annoying as the actual Service-Me-NOW indicator.

Is there no way to reset this ourselves? I did my first oil change myself. Did a hell-of-a-job too, I might add!

It's a service reminder, not a reminder to change your oil (although that is part of the "service).

There's a reason you have two trip meters.

everyone gets this but i thought the service is at 14k miles not 6500 (7100, 6500 plus the original 600 for first service) If i remember the service for the 1198 was 6500 and the pani was suppose to be more on par with the inlines guess this isnt true

The 12000km/7500mile service isn't the "big" one, but it's a service interval all the same. The major service (valves, plugs, etc.) has been pushed to 24000kms/15000miles.

Agreed. There ought to be a way to turn this off. I find it mildly annoying.

Agreed, it is annoying... but just for three seconds so I just ignore it. Maybe a software update at some point will change it so that it "reminds" us in a more attractive fashion.

I was thinking that a nice GIF of one of the Ducati models prancing across the screen holding a board overhead with the miles left until service. Kind of like the girls holding the 30 second board at a supercross race. OR perhaps one of the Ducati MotoGP umbrella girls with the number across the umbrella. (Certainly more race oriented, agreed?) Oh, while they are at it why not add a new menu choice that allows you to either select a specific girl or auto rotate to a new girl each month.
