Will you be trading one of your 1199's or keep the whole collection. What dealer are you going with? | |

500rpm more! SHIT! So awesome. Looks like everything on the R can be bolted on (or downloaded to) the 'lesser' models, but they had to go and throw in the Ti conrods. $30K is shocking, though. Would have expected it to be far more. Bravo, Ducati. |

Nice hope the carbon exhaust shield will be the recall for dreaded heat problems

Wow, you pay $38,567 USD (euro 30,000) by today's exchange rate. The MSRP here in US is $27,995.

Can you confirm that it will actually be an "R" ? It's been described/listed as an "SP" in leaked US EPA documents 2 weeks ago. The timing is also wrong for an "R" model going by normal Ducati release cycles, they are normally released toward the end of the cycle, but an "SP" would fit. |

So I'm guessing €33-34k over here then..... Glad to live in the part of the world where they build the things!

Speedyellow...........I live in Tenerife but work out of Florida so looked at this before when buying my R6 & 1199 Base. If Gran Canaria is the same you will be shafted with the cost of shipping, import duty & various other taxes making it pointless. Plus you may find you have problem with the warranty. It gutted me to pay 21K ($25K) for my 1199 when you can get it for less than $18K in the US. |

So here's the dilemma and I'm happy to have a mix of opinion and facts (proven or heresay). Due to financial constraints I had to turn down the delivery of the tri in July/August this year. My deposit is still with the dealer. Do I now convert my order to an SP/R or just stick with the tri? Here's my thought process: I want to retain the electronic shocks - I like the concept and it suits me. It may also be beneficial if taking the missus as pillion. The photos of the R seem to have no electronic shock control. No probs for racing but that's not what I'll be doing. I like the colors of the tri. Purchase is an emotional thing (it's a Ducati remember). I like the R colors in the photo, but not as much - guess I could wrap it to look like a Tri if I got really precious. I want to be able to take the missus for a ride - it is likely to be rare (from what she's said so far) but much better I have the option. If the R was a monoposto then I could always buy the tri pillion seat and pegs as a standby (along with the tri color match wrap for rest of bike) If the new model was more SP than R it is likely to have electronic shocks (maybe?) and maybe pillion ability. The tri is likely to end its run about the time funds come through. This is not critical but gets thrown into the equation. This is likely to be my duc sports bike to see me out, so don't mind spending extra (that's if the funds do come through ) if its "special" ... Yes I know I won't be able to ride the tri to its limits let alone the SP/R (I'm a realist) but that doesn't stop each being highly desirableOver to you all |
