Long time lurker here and finally pulled the trigger on a 2012 base Panigale(non abs). I was going back and forth between the 1199 and S1K, but with the great financing rate(got the 1.9%) and already owning a Ducati Diavel I knew It had to be the Panigale based on the drop dead gorgeous looks and sound of the bike. Only bad thing was that I signed the papers on Monday afternoon and I had to leave for Canada on Tuesday for business so Im itching to get back home on friday night so i can pick it up and ride |

I got very lucky.... I'm pretty good friends with the dealership & I have a basically new 2012 S1000RR I am trading in, so they made me a deal I could not refuse! I'm getting the competition mode with heated grips (WHICH ROCK) and passenger pegs. They are only bringing in 150 of these in the US, so I thought this bike would hold it's value a little more. Cannot wait, it's a SWEET bike. Good stuff. |

I really like the S1000RR, very different from the 1199 very different, it's really hard even to compare. I like they both in very different ways, but my 1199 definitely gets a lot more attention. A guy at stop light today, busted out his camera as was taking like 100 pictures... Was pretty funny. |

Pros: -Drop dead gorgeous in the sun -riding position is quite comfortable -Dash display looks amazing -sounds great for stock system -handling is exceptional -seat gets a bit hot but felt good when riding in the cold morning hours -Transmission shifts are smooth as butter Cons -seat is rock hard and somewhat painful after a 100 miles I put on -pegs are slippery and will be switched out as my first mod |
