melting fairing and warranty

So as many of you know there is a problem with the lower right fairing melting for the earlier 1199. I have this problem and now its starting to get bad so I took my bike in to get the rubber spacer and the new fairing. As I was at the dealer i asked for the new lower right hand fairing with the oil viewer (didnt think it would be that big of a request seeing that ducati missed this in the original design).
Over the weekend I went to pick up the new fairing and as I would guess they sent a new old fairing. I did not accept the fairing. I didnt want to get in a fight with the service deptatment (they are close to my house and they take care of my bike) but now i have had enough. I want to support my stealership i really do but they make it impossible for me to do so. To buy the oil viewer fairing it will cost 400. I think its crazy to ask someone that needs to see the oil level and color to pay 400 bucks after they spent 25gs. I escalated this problem to the east coast head of sales. I am also calling ducati na about this. My bike was delivered in F mode I wanted it in P mode and asked them to switch it they said 100 bucks to do it. I want to buy various rizoma products and they try and rip you off. (rear sets 650 when they cost 575) I ask how much to install everything if i buy it at the dealer they said 220, i asked how much if i buy it somewhere else they said 220. Why go through them?
Is anybody having the same problems?

I dont own a pani yet.
But warranty items only cover what you got in 1st place. I understand you might be mad but when they made those fairings im sure they made a whole lot for backup and supply. And this is the only way to get rid of them cuz no one will purchase them over new fairing.

Buying rearset online is alot different from buying them at a retailer. As its like buying anything online. Stores will also mark items up to pay for staff.

Service is really the only thing that is overprice to me. But like most if you can do it yourself why not. If cant thats how stealership make most of there money and keep opening.

Or ask sumone who can cheaper.

With warranty they need to prove items made the malfunction. Before they void yours

Also i dont support the F-P thing. They should of got that shit sorted.

I tried the same thing, they told me no. They will likely dish these out until they are out of stock.

The oil view fairing just came out when I got my lower replaced so I didn't even ask. Figured they would need to run out of the ones they have first.

does any one have a picture of a fairing with an oil view in it ?

I spoke to a factory Ducati rep and he knew nothing about it as of a month ago when I asked him

Look on the pics of the *white* 2013 model... New right side panel with cutout. Red one is still the 2012 image...

first to bear who said buying something online is different then the dealer. I agree if they are charging 650 then that should include install. If not they are ripping you off. its not discounted online for 575 that IS THE COST OF THE ITEM EVERYWHERE ELSE.
The fairing part number is 48013353aa for the 2012 model and this is what they put in. For 2013 the number is 48013354aa and thats all they needed to do to get me the right part.
I spoke with ducati na and looks like everything will be resolved properly as it should have been. Only problem is my level of aggravation on the stealership. I cant believe on a high priced luxery item i had to go through this much trouble.
Finally the people defending the stealerships shame you. They dont care about their customers at all. Wake up people they are there to make money thats it. Now i dont mind that or want special treatment but when its time to step up and do the proper thing do it dont give me bs. Call Ducati na they will fix things for you and contact the stealership too. If enough people do this maybe things will turn around.

cause if i mess it up then what? More importantly why should I. I spent good money for this bike. I am not a guinea pig. They fixed the problem they should compensate their early buyers. Us early adopters complained they fixed why should we suffer?

well mark im just telling the truth.
glad you got what you want and its good to know if you call the right people you can get things your way.
i dont know how you goin to deal with the rearset think you might as well deal with sumone or another dealer even tho that dealer is next door,
only deal with that dealer when you really need things done ie. service to keep warranty

Was it that everyone else is selling those rearsets at $575, but your dealer is selling at $650? Or is $575 the actual cost of them?
