don t buy the DP rear stand

Have you put it together properly? I found that with mine until I realised it wasn't joined how it should, then it went together a piece of cake

Is this the Red stand???I have the islvery/grey coloured on and it came assemblde and seems study and perfect for the job to me...

I don't see too many ways to put it together ...screws are just the wrong ones...or ducati sends shit to australia

The 2 long screws? I think I had to use something to force the holes to line up, but then it worked.

there are 2 long for the wheels, 2 mid for the strut and 1 short. The two mid are too short b/c the outer bracket is too wide, hence the nut does not bite.

very poor quality welding or bending of metal sheets.

unfortunately I couldn't find the pitbull in australia

I had the same issues putting my stand together and was gonna return it

Reckon a batch went out with screws that were too short, which is a poor show on the part of FG Gubellini, the company that makes it for Ducati.

I also complained that the axle was slightly tilted away from horizontal, but thing is, they have designed it so that the bike leans onto its side stand when you lower it down.

Its actually a great stand for solo use.

I have the red one and never had a problem. Does lean to one side slightly but doesn't bother me.

I know a lot of people on here think if it's not a Ducati product you can't use it on a Ducati. I can say this for sure if you drink the koolaid you get what u deserve. Hands down pitbull is the best and it's half the price made in the good old us of a. Screws to short, no oil viewer on lower fairing, oil recommendation you can't get in the states, windscreen that gets scratched if you fold in the mirrors, and a full exhaust system that gives you less performance over the slip ons. My point is you should look for aftermarket parts other then Ducati.

Geeze Mark, why did you get a Ducati? I got the DP stand as the pitbull is butt ugly, and the Panigale is a "supermodel" I bought my Rotella at Walmart, happy with the standard screen that doesn't get in the way of the mirrors (the other screen only gets scratched if you are sloppy), no one said you had to buy a Termi- I'm waiting to see what else is available.

I got the 1199 cause I like how it looks. The rear stand doesn't stay attached to my bike when I ride it as long as it does what I need it to do which is work is fine with me. The stand doesn't make the bike look any better or worse. I'm a taller rider I need a higher wind screen and I'm not getting termi. Not getting dp rearsets either. I got the bike for the bike. Changeable parts will not be Ducati. No function and overpriced.

sheesh the end has to be near when people are buying rear stands based on the looks regardless of whether they work or not!

The DP stand does a good job sitting in the corner looking pretty, but if you want to pull the rear wheel, give me a pitbull any day.

I personally use 3 pitbull stand options.
1st is my standard double sided swing arm stand for which I can also use on my other non-Duc track bikes. The 1199 needs the rim / axle sliders to accommodate the stand. I'm a fan of the sliders on the 1199 anyway, god forbid I need them.
2nd is a dedicated single sided swing arm stand, which seems to have a more stable purchase on the 1199.
And 3rd, and most important for trailer transport, is the trailer restraining system. I use this mehod for all my bikes for rapid hookup, and almost foolproof & more confident that the bikes will still be upright when I get to my destination.

you bought your rotella in walmart. I believe you are referring to oil. I know you can get rotella in walmart or anywhere else. As you know rotella isnt the recommended oil for the 1199. blasphemy you are using something not recommended by Ducati. As you know Ducati recommends shell advanced 4t 15w50. Can you find that in walmart? um no. my ducati stealership uses motorex 10w50. My other ducati stealership uses 10w40. I have used castrol in every high performance machine i have ever owned never had a problem.

For me castrol power RS racing 4t 10w40
