Damn that's a good deal.
Last wknd I had Seacoast do my first svc and it was right around $300 I believe. I had Riverside do my first svc last season on my 848evo, only because Seacoast was really backed up and couldn't take my bike in at the time. Got the bike back and it was filthy from greasy/oily finger marks smeared all over the arctic white silk paint. There was no personal attention given. I was just one of the masses.

So I opted to take the ride back up to Seacoast where I bought both Ducs. I was out back with the tech (Kyle) basically the entire time while he worked on it. He taught me how to disassemble and reassemble the side fairings. Talked to me about how to adjust everything and anything. Showed me the all the software while it was running tests for the ECU's. He went out of his was way to cater to everything. They set my sag before I even picked up the bike new but he offered me suspension advice etc.
I'd rather drop a little more coin and get treated like I feel I should after shelling out over 25K for a bike.

Hell, I was at a bike night a few wks back and pulled over briefly to check my oil level after departing. Within minutes a guy (Brandon) rolls up on his 848 and says "hey I'm a tech for Seacoast, is everything ok, can I help you at all?" These are the kind of people I'd rather associate with.

Sorry for the rant. Kinda went off there for a few minutes hahaha

Mine was less than $200. I want say $178.

They also changed the suspension link for me.

Freaking $341 for mine.. I have no problem paying it but, I do have a problem when every other Ducati dealer in Texas charges about $100 less for the same work, using the same parts, performed by the same level Ducati master tech.

They did give me a break on accessories though..

Honestly guys....You've bought an exotic Italian motorcycle. If you're complaining about the price of the service then maybe a Hyosung bike would suit you better.
As the owner of an independant shop specializing in Ducati maintenance, I take exception to your assertion. It's a motorcycle, not a DaVinci. I respect the breed and have been a Ducati owner for nearly 20 years, but it's still just a motorcycle!

In the US the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act protects the status of your vehicle warranty regardless of the shop that services your bike. It also applies if you do your own maintenance, though the manufacturer can demand that you use OE parts during the warranty period. If you use aftermarket parts they still can't void the warranty unless the non-OE part directly results in the warrantable failure.

All that said, I'm taking mine to the dealership for its first service 'cause I can't interface with the Mitsubishi ecu. I spoke with the guys at Technoresearch several months ago (we use Centurion Pro Europe at our shop) and they were already working on an interface. The Diavel and new Multistrada also use Mitsubishi electronics, so hopefully they'll have something out shortly to ease my pain.

When they come out with this they'll generally sell a single bike license to individual owners for a pretty reasonable fee.

I have to agree with Cloner...had the fork seals on two bikes replaced, new chain and sprockets installed, the 15K service done on my S4RS etc. by Desert Desmo at a very reasonable cost and to my full satisfaction

Of course you wouldn't because BMW includes the oil changes and brake pads as part of the purchase and you pay nothing!! Try another....ummmm how about Ferrari.

Kyle and I have been great friends for since 1995 when he and the original BCM crew from Laconia built my 944 ssh and we have remained tight ever since. You know how lucky you are to spend time together on your bike? You obviously see how much passion and knowledge he has for Ducati and can talk for days about anything regarding them! So glad you got the chance to learn from the best in the business and have him nearby!!
Be sure to mention you saw my comments on the forum too. I'm presently building up his AR rifle for him now!
Greatest guy ever! Bravo my friend!

Yeah Kyle is top notch and knows his stuff. He's one of very few around here that are trained to work on Desmo's. I'll gladly let him know you mentioned great things about him on here!

The first 1,000km service - including oil/filter changes and bolt torque checks - is free in Korea.
I guess it is due to such high cost of the bike itself, the dealer decided to service it for free?

I Ride: was 2011 848 evo, now finally 2012 1199 base with ABS
1st service $405 Australian dollars, for this price you get:

1. 1st service
2. suspension changed from F to P
3. rear brake pedal adjusted
4. took all day to complete service
5. service oil warning light not reset ( and no capacity to do so!) ( still not done)
6. service history book missing
7. ducati standard tool kit missing

It will take a minimum of three trips to the dealer to complete the first service! I feel like I may have been "touched"

Just got my back with a bill for £186. More than expected as I was told it would be £120 when I bought the bike. Not going to complain too much as they replaced some damaged ventureshield for free.

$183.00 (US). The dealer had the bike in the shop for 3 hours. The mechanic, a Ducati level 3 tech with desmo certification, took his time and checked just about everything over on the bike. In addition, he took time to answer some of my questions and make some recommendations concerning maintenance. All in all I got the service and an education for my money. No complaints here.
