Put my leg over my 1098 for the last time driving out of my garage on a bright but cold morning. The old girl never missed a beat in 5 years, I did hurt her once, when I put a stone through my oil rad but I loved her and mended her. The ride was emotional and it did what I always ask of her, she put a smile on my face. When I got off I patted her knowing that was it, but sat alongside was my new girfriend.... My 1199 with ABS was there and mine. Got to say my smile just inceased. All I can say its all I wanted it to be, having jumped on... 200 miles later my smile just got bigger it is bloody.......... U N B E L I E V A B L E. WHAT A BEAST, and no smoke to boot. The quick shifter is sweet, yes even at running in speeds, but then again I never used the clutch going up the box on my 1098. Shes in bed now resting , but I WILL wake her soon, very soon you just have to ride one of these things. To all whos got one enjoy. Those waiting your time will come and it is worth the wait.

Know exactly how you feel. When I let go of my Hyper about two months ago I felt like I just abandoned a puppy on the side of the road. To make it worse my new bike is not in yet and my riding buddies are have a field day with this. |

My 1198 had to go (get traded in) while I was away unfortunately, so I didn't get a chance to have a final ride, knowing it would be my last on the bike. I did take her for a good last ride ( , no puns here) the day before I deployed though.

So there's only my GSXR750 track bike which is not road legal and so I currently have no road bike. Real sad to let the K13S go, real happy to be getting an 1199 as a replacement and excruciatingly painful waiting for the damn thing to arrive!!!!!!!

I couldn't wait, had my pit stop, but now I have a dilema. My Bonniville was looking scared sat quietly next to the beast all pumped up. Its hard work keeping two girls happy so I decided to slip by leg over my Bonni just to re-assure her I still love her. Shes a comfortable reliable ride does as shes told. Not the quickest off the mark, but when shes got a head of steam you can do anything with her, straight roads 60, bends 60, well just about anything its 60 shes just a no brainer (I will caviat that with "depends on the speed limit of the road I have taken her) . Having done that and told her that the new garage buddy wont bite but does bark, its back home and now I am taking the beast out again... Its got to be done.. Mat as far as the title i am sure people know what I mean as my smile just keeps getting bigger Last edited by paulk; May 17th, 2012 at 10:21 AM. |

Donno 'bout you guys, being bikeless in my social environement makes makes me the laughingstock. Jokes like "Panigalate" and "195 hp and all the gizmos, but wait, did you get it already" have become a daily routine.

This is why I never own just one bike - although it still sucks to wait for it, I'm waiting for one now as well. I feel for you. | |

I know I know! Problem was that I signed a new sled the same week I signed the Pani and then the money-printing machine had a hiccup. So to cater to my guilt-ridden conscience I put the old Hyper up for sale at a price I thought I'd never get and it went to the second caller. And the worst part: Things have been going pretty well and I could have gotten the S and keep the Hyper |

Yeah , my riding buddies are busting my balls everyday ! " Man , I had a great ride in on my way to work today ! How was yours ? Oh yeah , you still don't have a bike ! " One of em told me that Ducati must have hired the Capt. from the Italian cruise line that ran aground and fliped the ship. Said my bike is now a $20,000 artificial reef ! Assholes ! LOL !

Great read. I hope this is the last child I adopt for a long, long time. |
