No more streetfighter?

The Streetfighter S isn't on the Ducati site anymore. Did Ducati dump it and just keep the Streetfighter 848?

Ducati Streetfighter Streetfighter S, Streetfighter

Does seem strange it's not listed anymore. I'll ask around tomorrow and see if I can find anything out.

yes, apparently there is only the baby streetfighter now. The 1098 model has been discontinued from the line.

Interestingly enough, they forgot to remove the S from the description...

Damn, wish I had kept the sf1098s now. Oh wait, the tank had that nasty habit of expanding...... nevermind.

I think its because the SF 848 and 1098 HP is pretty close so it doesn't really make sense to have both. That and the lines are starting to blur on all the bikes. The italians haven't figured out how to produce things in a streamlined manner - so having too many bike platforms doesn't make sense for them from a production scheduling point of view.

Not quite sure that's the case? This is an excerpt taken from an article posted in June of this year;
".....The company sold 1782 bikes in the month of May resulting in an increase of 49% over those sold in May 2011.
These sales figures also broke the company's all time sales records set in June 2008. It is the all new Ducati 1199 Panigale superbike and 848 Streetfighter that are behind these spectacular sales records. Ducati's Diavel and Multistrada models also contributed to increased sales during the past month......."
Seems to me the SF is selling just fine? Just about every manufacturer has an offering in this class and it would be silly for Ducati to completely drop the model. I'm betting there's an update coming?

***Edit***
Sorry, brain fart! I thought we were talking about the StreetFighter in general not just the "S" model.
Interestingly enough the "S" is still on the Ducati.com site, so maybe just us north americans get screwed again?
