Hard Starting Conditions Poll

If you have experienced a hard start - aka 20+ seconds of attempted starting that has failed to clean start. What conditionals was your bike under when it gave a hard time starting? If none of these are close enough, post up your conditions.

Mine does too. Takes about 2 engine revolutions and then it starts without hesitation .

What constitutes "a hard time starting"? Occasionally it will take two tries. Does that count?

Good clarifying question: Hard starting would be much more than 2 attempts. We often find that the bike will refuse to start after 5 or 6 cycles of 2-3sec presses of the starter or more. The condition oftens seems like the bike is not receiving ignition, followed by a strong fuel odor and then several more attempts that might result in a pop, or more then maybe a rough idle and then dies or then finally it starts but does not idle without throttle inputs.

If you have other conditions, add those as well but 2 is not an issue that would strain the battery and starting system unless you are holding the starter button down for long periods of time during each attempt. Then maybe 10 sec pushes would constitute hard starting in my eyes.

Not sure how to add an additional option. I guess since I called the hard start, we should be ok as oppossed to a starting poll. However, if you know how to add an option shoot me a message.

Same here. Thats because it's the decompression release activating. Never had a stating issue.

I'm wondering how you will 'hunt' me when I race off to the horizon while you are jackhammering your startbutton with your thumb

Dealer told me to crack throttle b4 hot start. Just hold throttle to take up "virtual play". Don't give it gas-just hold to take up play. Starts 99.5% of the time on the 1st try
