just a note - one should not connote "made in italy" as being quality. Not all italian made products are elegant, classy and/or well made. .. Just like not everything made in china is cheap, crude and poorly made. . . Most of Europe consider the mass produced cars coming out of Italy to be quite poorly made (Fiats), only better than ones coming out of Eastern Europe (like Skoda).

Then you will have made an educated decision of which one works best for you. Now if you want to skip that step - thats perfectly fine as well. What do they say "ignorance is bliss". What you don't know can't hurt you ??

Stock, comfort, performance and race huh? Wonder whats next. A winners circle seat perhaps? I'd like that one and agree it should be plush with a hydration system and heated or cold feature after a long ride! Cant wait ti see it so make sure Im informed ok?

I don't believe its actually a "performance" seat. It's a race seat by Ducati Performance. Though I think the comfort seat is also a DP product.

i will have all three very shortly (already have stock and comfort) and will end up re-covering/re-build the stock seat (i think race and comfort already look good). keep them and use them for later as you rotate thru them, i can see myself keeping this bike for at least 10 more years and you'll probably need the seats.

It's definitely on my list of things to buy for my panigale! This nice on the bike and as I've seen this past sunday looks comfortable.

On my 1198s I had the DP performance seat and it was superb, basically a gel filled stock seat with a grippy cover, it was awesome, really comfortable but you could move round real easy on it. The only problem was you had to remove it when you washed the bike or it held water for three days! Right I'm off to work on my race seat, bit of sun in the UK at last, might be a long ride home via the police hotspots of North Wales!

I got the Comfort seat and found that it put lots of pressure on my wrists. I may try and just put the Comfort seat cover on my standard seat without all the extra padding and see how that goes. May have to get the big staple gun out.

Having both the comfort seat and the race seat I can attest the race seat does not sit as high as the comfort seat, also the seating position is further back. I personally prefer the race seat but the red stitching on the comfort seat definitely looks better.

Will concede the comfort seat with the two tone stitching gives it a better look though. ..

Comfort seat feels good,no problem on long rides, looks good. Would like to be lower though so might try race seat anyway!

Race seat all the way for me. I do agree with some of the other posts.. It does seat you a bit higher than the stock and you feel "on" the bike rather than "in" the bike when riding. To me, it looks as thick as the comfort seat. I imagine it wll squish down after some riding. |
