So I was cleanin' her up the other day and noticed that there seems to be a melted or broken piece of heat wrapped plastic right above the exhaust (pics). I'm not going to act like I know what the hell it is, but I don't think its always looked like that. Any insight on what it is or if it will be an issue that should be looked at? Thanks |

It is the exhaust flapper valve motor, which connects to a cable that goes to the flapper valve in the exhaust, near the rear tyre. I removed it permanently the other day whilst fitting Termi slip-ons, as per fitting instructions. Cheers |

I saw that yesterday when I was cleaning as well. Have only had my bike less than a week so I am still learning what all the components are!
