Ducati 1199S Starter motor and stalling problem

Hi my Ducati 1199S has just been collected by the dealer as it broke down as I was waiting at the traffic lights. Tried to start up again but the starter motor just made a wizzing sound as if it was not engaging. The problem with the stalling is quite frequent. Has anyone else had the same problems ? I mean with the stalling, the starter motor seems to be common fault only got 1200Kms on the clock.

I Ride: Panigale Tri-Colore
This happened to my friend here and was replaced under warranty. There are other threads on this forum about this issue too!

Just picked mine up today and about a 30 mile ride home (she now has 37 miles on her!). Stalled once at a stop light, stopped and in gear. Will keep track of the stalls but my 848 stalled every once in a while when in gear, clutch disengaged, coming to a stop light/sign.

Mine stalled once on my first ride in factory sport settings at very low speed downshift into first at an intersection. 800 more miles no more stalls.

stalled again. this time i'm braking and downshifted to prepare for my turn and lights just went out; felt like i squeezed the clutch and the rpms dropped to zero and killed the engine. luckily i was rolling at about 35mph and was able to coast off the roadway and turn into the parking lot and glide to a stop in a parking space just as i intended....expect with no engine running.

this is what i do when i arrive home, i flip the kill switch off as i roll up my driveway to coast to a stop at my garage door. but it seems pretty dangerous when you are in traffic and you lose all power and have little options or have to attempt a restart.

plus, rolling on this bike with no power (and in gear) doesn't feel smooth; feels pretty awkward.

so i didn't even try to re-start but after i took care of business in the store (a couple of minutes), no problem starting up.

eta: 1600 mi on the odometer

I Ride: Panigale w/ABS
Happened to me twice in 1 week while at a stop light in 1st gear with clutch on and ready to go. Had to roll it out of the street cause the cars were coming from behind. Kinda dangerous. Once out of the way it started just fine. Keeping my eyes on it just to see if the break-in period will help it go away.

stalling, now dead

I have had a stalling problem with my 2012 Panigale S model purchased just recently at the end of January 2013. It was new not used and it would stall in neutral or in gear with the clutch engaged, either just sitting there idling or waiting at a light. Once it did stall, it was cumbersome to start again and embarrissing. It would do it on take off also, even if I attribute 75% (which is not likely) to user error it is still too high of a stall rate for a brand new bike! Now it is in the shop as the other morning it just would not run. It would start, but backfired and sounded horrible and I had to ride the clutch to get it back in the garage without it crapping out. All this in the first 48 days of ownership. Two days in the shop and still no answer. Watch the stalling problem and question it while it is under warranty! I will fill you in when I get an answer on it.

Engine Map

Has anyone had the engine map update done and does it actually help the stalling issue?
