Throttle bodies and hard start

Today after the first service my mechanic told me that my throttle bodies were set to 0 and should have been set to -2. This could be a potential reason for hard start when the bike stands in sun.

The dealership from where I bought the bike (Motorcycle of Charlotte) recently received a letter from ducati saying that people should not open throttle at all while stating.

Am not sure whether all the dealership received the letter.

So it kind of makes sense.

Hmmmmmmmm...I've got hard starting issues...maybe I should have my dealer check the Throttle Bodies setting...

I never apply any throttle when starting. I just hit the starter button....and still do get starting issues at times...

I will have my dealer check this....worth lookin into!
Thanks!

Remove the vapor canister, hard starting will be gone, no matter where it sits.

Our bikes in the Philippines are Euro versions...we dont have the Vapor Emission Canister. And I still do get hard starting issues...

Has nothing to do with the vapor Canister...nor the mapping...as I had stock OEM exhausts and had the hard starting issues. Switched to a Termi slip-on with up-map installed...still hard starting persists.

So it aint the Mapping, nor the Vapor Emission Canister. Will check the position of the throttle bodies when I bring my bike in for it's next Scheduled Service.

Aaaarrrrrggghhhhhh!

I Ride: 1199
I took by 1199 through the blueridge parkway and to deals gap. Great ride. There were a couple of stops for coffee when the bike would not start. It would turn over but it just wouldn't start. The only way we got it to start was to open the throttle entirely. Was a little frustrated and concerned.

I am going to get the dealership to check it at the next service...

My problem was with the Fuel Pump according to my dealer. DId they find something else and the pump became a red herring? Don't think so because others have also had their pumps replaced as well. Good Luck!!

Hard start

Hey, new to this forum just got my 1199s abs 3 weeks ago and working hard to break the first 600 miles. I do have a problem to start the bike from time to time when it is hot and it has been sitting for 30 min to an hour, it turn but can't seems to start.
The dealer told me to give some lite trotle when this happen.

It does start but run rough... I will talk to them at the first service i hope the will have a solution.
