I was at the Ducati Dealer today with my friend he was looking to buy an S with ABS. The dealer told him that the ABS models has slightly less fuel capacity than the NON ABS Model but Ducati doesn't advertise this. The reason why he said that the ABS model has less fuel capacity is that the gas tank on the ABS model is slightly smaller due to the shape at the bottom of the tank to accommodate the ABS module. Has anyone heard of this? if so what is the capacity of the Tank of the ABS model?

No there are only two tanks listed for 1199 one for std/abs/s with silver decals and one for tricolore with white decals so no different capacities The Monster models with ABS have lower capacity |

The Base, Panigale "S" and Tricolore have the exact same tank capacities....NO difference. Part numbers differ due to color of decals ONLY on the Tricolore, "S" and Base Models. They all carry same aluminum fuel tanks with the exact same capacity. Guy from the dealer that told you this is just plain "st...d" ...sorry to say. Miguel Philippines | |

The ABS brain is on the upper right side of the bike..It's location has nothing to do with the tank's mounting nor is it anywhere close to the tank. It's about the size of a pack of cigarettes. Please don't tell me anyone is dumb enough to believe Ducati is producing two completely different tank shapes just to accomodate that tiny ABS brain? The crap salespeople say just amaze me.... and Ducati salespeople no less. |

I'm thinking that they were trying to push the one they had on the floor non ABS since they didn't have an ABS model there.

The unit for the ABS is off to the side behind the right side plastics. |
