Has anyone changed out the windshield on their panigale yet? How did you get the lower bolts/nuts back on? And have you had issues getting the mirror deletes back on once the new windshield on?

Appearantly you have to take the front fairing off according to the dealer. I got lazy and just let the dealer swap my windscreens during first service.

All you have to do is crazy glue the two small rubber grommets at the bottom of the windscreen and you don't have to take the front fairing off, it just screws in after you move it into place. The mirror stuff takes some patience but it's just getting the stuff to re-seat properly back under the fairing, I've done it a couple of times and it's not bad.

Usually that type of glue leaves a fogging effect on plastic. Or are you using the term loosely and using some other type glue?

I watched as my dealer did it at my break in service, it looked just like regular crazy glue to me and left no residue or fogging on the plastic, he was meticulous about it though so use as little as needed. He also mentioned the later bikes come with the lower grommets pre-installed from the factory so you can remove the stock windscreen easily and change it out.

the Depot and lows has some bonkers super glue that i didn't even know existed. the applicators have come A LONG WAY since the shitty tubes. you can control the shit out of where the glue ends up. be patient take your time and it might take you a few tires but it'll work. also, if you plan to use the DP screen, be forewarned that you can NO LONGER turn your mirrors in as they will hit the screen. not the end of the world as the taller screen really helps deflect much better then stock. good luck. | |

BUT, I had a solution that worked. This is what I did to mine: Here's what to do if you want your side mirrors to still fold completely when using the Aftermarket or DP windshield. 1. Simply fold your Mirrors until its about to touch your DP or Aftermarket Double bubble windsreen... 2. Then mark the black portion of the mirror that is about to touch the windscreen. 3. Remove the mirror and shave the metal neck portion that was about to touch the windscreen, to about 5mm with a simple file. 4. Paint the portion you shaved off in black. 5. Reinstall mirrors and you will have a mirror that completely folds in, and you get to enjoy your higher DP Screen. I do fold my mirrors a lot when I lane split and when I hit a bit of traffic. But by doing this mod, I get to enjoy the benefits of a higher/taller screen and still being able to lane split with my mirrors folded in. Also, folding mirrors completely in, helps when parking your bike in tight places like garages, parking lots beside other bikes etc... Hope that helps riders that have problems folding their mirrors while using the DP or aftermarket screens. Worked for me. Shaved portion is not noticeable at all...
