My engagement point has gone back bar at 1500mile. Called dealer, recommended flush and bleed. I'll try that once but looking for upgrade over the winter

I read this problem in this forum a month ago and the problem is about one of the parts expanding when it is heated up. I beleive the word that they use is "tight tolerance" and the solution is to scotch brite the said part to increase the tolerance so it will not get stuck when it expands when it is heated up, I will try to find the thread and post it here.

I'm thinking my clutch is slipping and my mechanic friend suggested it's possible my plates have gotten stuck at various times and produces the same effect as if i'm riding the clutch causing premature wear......I'm also feeling surges and dips that feel like a loose bolt is flying around the engine.....do you guys think the sticking clutch plates are causing my issues?

"Seems the clearance between the cylinder and piston is incorrect and with engine heat they bind and cause the clutch to be hard to pull in and grab on the way out."

+1

There is a recall bulletin on the way to replace the rod. Ask your dealer.

I haven't noticed any issues, other than when I've sat in traffic and bike gets over 240. I'm at 3300-3400 miles, no big issues and I ran it in hard with break-in oil. Tight tolerance issues tend to go away when you break it in hard. That manual is garbage.

Normal ride on a cool morning, not slow and I notice that my clutch lever started to feel sticky on the way out after 30 miles - oil temp about 80. 3 miles later the clutch won't engage with the lever fully out. I let it cool and it improved for for 2 or 3 miles.

Worse - I changed up coming of a roundabout and lost all drive - thankfully with no car behind me!

Totally dangerous.

Scotchbrite? I want a new clutch cylinder that is built to the correct tolerances. The bike was in for it's first service only 2 weeks ago. Now we have this, plus the recall to deal with.

You don't get this with a Honda.

Dealer (Aylesbury) has ordered a new slave cylinder and bushes and will do recall 863 while it's in there.

My mate's Tricolore clutch has just gone sticky at 700 miles. My slave cylinder has now been replaced.
