Now, open yoru gas tank filler. Of the two hoses that connect to the top of the cannister, blow into each hose one at a time. When you blow into one of them you will feel air come out of the gas tank. Take that hose and connect it to the hose that came from the bottom of the cannister. The other hose should be plugged or capped off. You are done.

Another way to check. Unplug the two hoses from the top of the cannister. Start the engine. One of the two hoses will be drawing vaccum (suction) while the engine is running. That is the hose you need to plug or cap off.

So, now you have two ways to verify you have done it correctly.
This was great info. Thanks!!! (Just did it last night)

to be clear, and hopefully be of help to others, the rubber hose that goes to the larger circular piece at the top of the evap canister is the fuel overflow hose.....the line going to the smaller circular piece at the top of the fuel canister is the throttle body hose (the one that gets capped). you can see the fuel hose as #12 in the photo provided which goes to the fuel tank (nipples) in the upper left hand corner of said photo. earlier in the thread one of the lines was being referred to as "the top hose" which seemed a little confusing to me. regardless, hope this helps.

Thanks Trauma but isn't there a separate issue regarding a kinked hose where one has to remove the gas tank to reveal the kinked hose? If so, I couldn't see a pic of it in the charcoal canister link you provided.

Where do you see the gap between the fairing close to the fan? I don't have it and I ran the hose all the way down close to the exhaust.

Here some pics

Thanks
