Looking good. I last rode at Pacific Raceways on August 12th with 2Fast. It's a fun track, but just wish they would do a complete repave to get rid of the cracks and breaks in the asphalt, especially as they have some new competition as The Ridge just opened up this year.

Always cool seeing the new Panigale bikes out a track days this year, there has been a pretty strong representation at each track day I've been to this year, impressive as this is the initial year for the Panigale. I'll be riding this Friday, August 31st at The Ridge with 2Fast (non-Ducati bike though) and probably one or so more track days later this summer as well, maybe I'll run into you at one of these events.

that track scares the piss outta me lol...too many walls and too many trees.

Its not built for motorcycles is it? reminds me too much of riding on my back roads, I'd be tense looking out for deer lol.

Nice vid tho

Yeah, Pacific Raceways keeps talking about the major "overhaul" they are going to do to the track to bring it back to it's glory days but lack of any actual action and a continued strong representation from the drag racing community (I think most of PR's money still comes from drag racing) means they will be slow to make any changes. I honestly think the only thing really motivating them is the fact that The Ridge continues to pull clubs and track day riders from them since the track is so much nicer and better designed. The continued development at the Ridge is either going to see PR go the way of the old Bremerton race track or they will finally get off their asses and invest in re-doing the track. Starting with a complete re-pave

It's not so bad, I actually find that it helps me focus my lines quite a lot since the outline of the trees creates a tunnel to follow when you are at speed

Pacific Raceways was originally built for automobile racing and had a strong focus on drag racing since it was and is still a key stop for the NHRA schedule. In the end though, despite it's shortcomings, it's still a fun pista for track days. The front "straight" (can't really call it a straightaway since you are basically hung over left or right for almost the whole straight while you are WOT) is my favorite part of the track just because flying by those walls at 150 out of the chute and 170ish through turn 1 is pretty exhilarating

I was going to say the same thing as Ducenzo....the trees so close to the track seems unnerving...not a lot of room to slide in a crash. But it's a pretty track, sections almost look like a backroads twisty.

I love it, definitely my kind of track. I actually prefer it over wide open tracks because I can make reference points far easier.
