Had my first clubrace this past weekend and was running really late race prepping. I unplugged and unbolt the kickstand, and left it at home. I then tried to bypass the sensor only to find out it's a hall effect which needs 1.2V, down from a supply of 5V to give the kickstand up signal. Without any resistors i used a magnet taped to the sensor to get it running for the race weekend. How have other gotten around this? I'm just going to make a volatge divider with a couple resistors but was curious if there was a better solution? |

I just attached a small magnet to the sensor also, works fine.

Yeah, 2 resistors. I made a replacement plug in that I'll post up pics later (or sell them if people want)

Here's the sensor bypass harness I designed. Uses OEM connectors and seals and the electronic bits are protected by a special conformal epoxy rated for high heat underhood enviroments. Pricing is $37 including shipping in the US. If you would like one send paypal to chris@polymotoengineering.com (make sure to include your shipping address in the paypal payment!). -Chris ![]() |
